The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a motor vehicle incident in South Slocan on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.
She was Katherine Claire Hiles, aged 31, of Winlaw.
Ms. Hiles was the driver of a car which was involved in a head-on collision with a Jeep on Highway 3A, near the intersection with Curtis Road near the Beasley fire hall, in the mid-afternoon of Sept. 15. She was transported by ambulance to Kootenay Lake Hospital, but could not be resuscitated.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Hiles has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks the media to respect their privacy at this difficult time.
