The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a motor vehicle incident in Whistler on Oct. 19, 2013.
He was Hugh Craig Roberts, aged 65, from West Vancouver.
At about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, the load on a fully loaded logging truck, going southbound on Highway 99 in Whistler, began to shift as it approached Nordic Drive. The truck tipped over, spilling its load onto the northbound lanes of the highway. Mr. Roberts was riding his motorcycle northbound and was impacted by the spilling load.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Roberts has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
