The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of two men who died following a boating incident on Sam's Folly Lake near Radium Hot Springs on Oct. 19, 2013.
They were Harry William Kashuba and William Lester Hollingsworth, both aged 78, and both were from Radium Hot Springs.
Mr. Kashuba and Mr. Hollingsworth were fishing from a 3.66-metre (12-foot) aluminium skiff on Sam's Folly Lake - a remote lake about 10 kilometres west of Radium Hot Springs - on the afternoon of Oct. 19 when something went wrong and they ended up in the frigid water. They were reported missing when they did not return as planned later that day. Their remains were found and recovered the next day by search-and-rescue and fire department personnel.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate these deaths.
The families of both men have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
