The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash near Cumberland on Oct. 26, 2013.
He was Lee Raymond Hamilton, aged 20, from Courtenay.
Mr. Hamilton was the driver and sole occupant of a quad ATV on a private logging road in a remote area near Cumberland on the afternoon of Oct. 26. When the friends with whom he had been riding realized he was no longer with them, they went to look for him, and found that the ATV had left the road and crashed into trees. Mr. Hamilton died at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Hamilton has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
