The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died as the result of a motor vehicle incident in Campbell River on Nov. 26, 2013.

He was John Norman Fisher, aged 59, from Campbell River.

Mr. Fisher was the driver and sole occupant of a car going northbound on Highway 19A near York Road at about 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 26 when he was involved in a head-on collision with a southbound car. Mr. Fisher was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this incident.

The family of Mr. Fisher has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
