The BC Coroners Service has confirmed that the body of a mature male was recovered from the Goldstream Park area near Victoria on Sunday, December 8, 2013.

The male appears to have been deceased for several weeks and may have been living in a makeshift campsite. There is no obvious cause of death and no evidence of foul play. The Coroners Service Identification and Disaster Response Unit is assisting with identifying the deceased and a coroner's investigation to determine the circumstances of the death is underway.

Confirmation of the identity of the male will be made public once known and after relatives have been notified.
