The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died after a motor vehicle incident in Kamloops on Dec. 12, 2013.

He was John Kopp, aged 86, of Kamloops, B.C.

Mr. Kopp was a pedestrian who was walking his dog east on Dallas Drive when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck. Mr. Kopp was pronounced dead at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Kopp has been notified of the death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
