The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a snowboarding incident at Powder King Mountain Ski resort, located east of Mackenzie, on Dec. 14, 2013.
She was Maxine Peters aged 27 of Grand Prairie, Alberta.
Ms. Peters was snowboarding in an "out-of-bounds" area of the ski resort when she lost control after going over a small jump and fell into very deep powdered snow.
The BC Coroners Service and the Mackenzie RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Peters has been notified of the death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
