The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identities of a man and a woman who died following a motor vehicle incident near Houston on Dec. 29, 2013.
They were Barry Gerald Lecuyer aged 49, and his wife, Terri Janna Lecuyer aged 55, from Prince Rupert.
Mr. Lecuyer was the driver and his wife the passenger in an SUV that was travelling westbound on Highway 16 in the evening of Dec. 29. About 18 kilometres west of Houston, the SUV collided with an eastbound pickup truck. Road conditions were noted to be icy at the time. Both victims were deceased at the scene of the crash.
The BC Coroners Service and the RCMP continue to investigate these deaths.
The families of both victims have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
