Premier Christy Clark released the following statement on Passover:

"Tonight, thousands of Jewish families in B.C. celebrate the beginning of Passover, which commemorates the freedom of their ancestors from slavery in ancient Egypt.

"The Passover Festival is rich in tradition, going back thousands of years, passed down from generation to generation. It remains a time for families to spend together.

"It's also an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible contributions B.C.'s Jewish community has made to our cultural fabric, which has made British Columbia a better, richer, more diverse place.

"On this most joyous occasion, I wish all Jewish British Columbians 'Chag Sameach'."
