B.C. Premier Christy Clark and Alberta Premier Alison Redford today announced they have appointed a working group led by the two top energy officials from each province to develop recommendations related to energy exports and opening new export markets.
"Our two provinces have a common interest in the responsible development and export of our energy resources," said Premier Clark. "It's critically important to work together to create jobs and strengthen the economy of our provinces, and Canada."
"Premier Clark and I are working together to build new markets and get the highest price possible for the resources owned by the people of our two provinces," said Premier Redford. "I'm excited about the progress we're making and the potential for Alberta and B.C. to continue driving Canada's economy."
In creating the working group, Alberta and B.C. identified the shared goal of opening new markets and expanding export opportunities for oil, gas and other resources.
Recommendations will be presented to the premiers later this year.
