British Columbia's second annual B.C. Family Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 10 features lots of opportunities for families and citizens to celebrate together with fun activities in local communities throughout the province.
The B.C. government has partnered with the BC Recreation and Parks Association, the Royal BC Museum and the Vancouver Art Gallery to support local B.C. Family Day events.
BCRPA, a non-profit organization dedicated to healthy lifestyles and communities in British Columbia, is working with its membership, including local recreation centres, community centres, sportsplexes, arenas and aquatic centres to host a variety of B.C. Family Day events.
Opportunities include free skating, swimming, dances, games, crafts, pancake breakfasts, a greenhouse tour with horticulture tips, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and more. To see what's happening in B.C. communities, visit: https://www.bcrpa.bc.ca/
In Victoria, the Royal BC Museum is offering activities on a nature theme, including sketching in the Natural History gallery and bookmark making. Admission is free. For more information, visit: http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/events/family-day-at-the-royal-bc-museum/
At the Vancouver Art Gallery, B.C. Family Day participants can experience a special open-house presentation including a music performance and Emily Carr-inspired art projects. In addition, free skate rentals are available all day in Robson Square.
