Effective at 4 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, Sept. 5, the area restriction order in place for a group of fires west of Elkford will be rescinded to allow public access to the region.

The area north of the East White River and the East White River Forest Service Road will be reopened to the public. No structures or communities are threatened by any of the fires in the area at this time.

The public should note that bridge maintenance is ongoing at various locations in the same area. This work is unrelated to Wildfire Management Branch activities. For an updated list of these road closures, please visit: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/drm/services/road-works.htm

To report a wildfire or unattended campfire, call 1 800 663-5555 toll-free or *5555 on a cellphone.
