Effective immediately, the area restriction order in place around the Chelaslie River fire has been amended to allow public access in areas south of the fire.
The forested areas north of the Kluskus Forest Service Road from Chedakuz Creek (km 118) to Fawnie Creek (km 141) and then north of Fawnie Creek to the Entiako Provincial Park boundary remain restricted to protect the safety of firefighting personnel and the public.
A map of the amended area restriction is available online at: http://bit.ly/1u7LWW5
The map shows the fire perimeter; not all the area inside the fire perimeter is necessarily actively burning. There may be sections within these boundaries which have not been impacted at this time.
