The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following a snowmobiling incident near Lower Post on Jan. 1, 2014.
He was Andrew Jason Carlick, aged 42, of Lower Post, a small community just south of the Yukon border.
Mr. Carlick was the operator of a snowmobile which went over a guardrail and down a 22-metre embankment, ending up near the banks of the Liard River between Lower Post and Watson Lake in the Yukon territory. Mr. Carlick was reported missing on Jan. 2, 2014, and a search was begun. He was found on the morning of Jan. 3, 2014; he was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Carlick has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
