The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died while snowboarding at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014.

He is Dale Steward, aged 26, of Queensland, Australia.

Mr. Steward was snowboarding inbounds at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort before being discovered unresponsive on a ski run by other skiers. Resuscitative efforts by ski patrol members and paramedics were unsuccessful and he was pronounced deceased. The circumstances of Mr. Steward's death are being investigated by the BC Coroners Service.

The family of Mr. Steward have been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
