The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.

He is William Roloff, aged 89, of Kelowna, B.C.

Mr. Roloff was operating his electric scooter southbound across Highway 33 at Bryden Road when he was struck by a vehicle travelling westbound. Mr. Roloff was transferred to the Kelowna General Hospital where, despite treatment, he died of his injuries.

The family of Mr. Roloff have been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
