The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident near Cobble Hill on Jan. 23, 2014.

He was Miles Alexander Phillips, aged 48, of Duncan.

Mr. Phillips was the driver of a car that was travelling on Telegraph Road in Cobble Hill in the late morning hours of Jan. 23 when the car left the road and struck a large tree. Mr. Phillips was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Phillips has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
