The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following an incident with a train in Kamloops on Jan. 29, 2014.
He was Yvon George Joseph Gagne, aged 40, of no fixed address.
Mr. Gagne was struck by an eastbound freight train on the CP Rail main line tracks under the Overlander Bridge in Kamloops as he was walking eastbound on the tracks about 8:20 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2014. He was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Gagne has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
