The BC Coroners Service has announced that a public inquest will be held into the death of Christopher Lewis Ray.
The inquest will take place beginning on July 7, 2014, at the Coroners Court in Burnaby.
Mr. Ray, aged 52, died on Oct. 29, 2012, as the result of a police shooting following an interaction with the Vancouver Police Department in the 3400-block of East Hastings Street.

While the jury may not, by law, make any findings of legal responsibility, it will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.
