The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a motor vehicle incident near Oliver on Feb. 19, 2014.
She was Marissa Mae Louie, aged 19, of Oliver.
Ms. Louie was the driver and sole occupant of a car which left the highway, hit a power pole and caught fire on Highway 97 South near Road 13, south of Oliver about 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 19. Ms. Louie was transported to hospital by ambulance but was deceased on arrival at hospital.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Louie has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
