The BC Coroners Service has announced dates for the public inquest into the death of Roland Joseph Bourque.
The inquest will begin on June 2, 2014, at the Coroners Court in Burnaby.
Mr. Bourque, aged 69, was an inmate at the North Fraser Pre-trial Centre in Port Coquitlam when he died on the morning of April 3, 2012. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Presiding coroner Liana Wright and a jury will hear evidence from witnesses under oath to determine the facts surrounding this death. The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.
An inquest is a formal process that allows for public presentation of evidence relating to a death.
