The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a motor vehicle incident in Duncan on April 6, 2014.

He was Zakkaree Tharren Mikey Coss, aged 22, of Port Alberni.

Mr. Coss was the front-seat passenger in a car that was travelling northbound on Highway 1 in Duncan about 8 a.m. on April 6 when, at the intersection of Bench Road, the car left the highway and struck a power pole. Mr. Coss was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Coss has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
