The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died following a snowmobiling incident near Valemount on April 15, 2014.
She was Felicia Ann Eaton, aged 54, of Tete Jaune Cache.
Ms. Eaton was one of a group of five snowmobilers who were snowmobiling in the backcountry of the Small River watershed, about 60 kilometres northeast of Highway 16. About 2 p.m. on April 15, they were attempting to ascend a steep slope when Ms. Eaton lost control of the machine and impacted with a tree. She died at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Eaton has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
