The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Yahk on May 7, 2014.

He is Rudy Lauritzen, aged 64, of Riondel.

Mr. Lauritzen was the driver of a westbound car which was involved in a collision with an eastbound tractor-trailer unit on Highway 3/95 near Irishman’s Creek at about 3:45 pm on May 7, 2014. Mr. Lauritzen was deceased at the scene.

The Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Mr. Lauritzen’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
