The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Barriere on May 24, 2014.

He is Kurtis James Genier, aged 34, of Barriere.

Mr. Genier was the operator of a southbound motorcycle which was involved in a collision with a northbound vehicle on Highway 5 about 10 kilometres south of Barriere at about 8 a.m. on May 24, 2014.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Mr. Genier’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
