The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died following a logging accident near Nelson on May 26, 2014.

He was Laurie Kyle Levy, aged 36, of Balfour.

Mr. Levy was working as a chokerman on a logging site off the Smallwood Creek Forest Service Road near Nelson when he was struck by a tree shortly after 8 a.m. on May 26. He was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafeBC and the RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Levy has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
