The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died in a fire in a trailer in Parksville, on June 2, 2014.

She is Johanna Irmgard Charlotte Szepat, aged 90, from Parksville.

At about 2:30 a.m. on June 2, 2014, neighbours noticed smoke coming from the trailer home where Ms. Szepat resided, and called 911. When the Parksville Fire Department had extinguished the fire, they located the body of Ms. Szepat in the trailer.

The BC Coroners Service, Oceanside RCMP and Parksville Fire Department are continuing to investigate this death. Foul play has been ruled out at this time.
