The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident along the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99) on June 7, 2014.
He was Chee Hung Wong, aged 81, a resident of Hong Kong.
Mr. Wong was a rear-seat passenger in a car which left the highway and rolled onto its roof near the Garibaldi salt shed between Squamish and Whistler just after noon on June 7. Mr. Wong was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and the RCMP Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Wong’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
