The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a motor vehicle incident in Port Moody on June 24, 2014.

She is Betty Helan Pleshko, aged 71, of Port Moody.

Ms. Pleshko was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk at the corner of Ioco Road and Heritage Drive in her motorized scooter when, at about 3:15 pm, she was struck by a five-ton flatdeck truck. Ms. Pleshko was deceased at the scene of the collision.

The BC Coroners Service and Port Moody Police continue to investigate this death.

The family of Ms. Pleshko has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
