The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died following a water-skiing incident on Sugar Lake near Cherryvale on July 1, 2014.
She was Brenda Lee Roine, aged 46, from Coldstream, a community in the North Okanagan.
Ms. Roine was water-skiing with family members on the afternoon of July 1 when she fell and was immediately unconscious in the water. She was quickly recovered from the lake and rushed to shore, but died before reaching hospital in Vernon.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Roine has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
