The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after being involved in a paragliding accident near Pemberton on July 8, 2014.
He is Judd Adam Feldman, aged 44, from Pemberton.
Mr. Feldman and a friend launched their paragliders from a launch site near Pemberton on the afternoon of July 8, 2014, with the aim of travelling to another area where other paragliders were camping. The two became separated during the flight.
When the campers returned to Pemberton on July 9, 2014, they realized Mr. Feldman was missing and contacted emergency services. A search was immediately begun. On the morning of July 10, 2014, a Canadian Forces Buffalo aircraft spotted Mr. Feldman and his glider near the peak of Owl Ridge north of Pemberton. When military search-and-rescue technicians parachuted into the site, they found Mr. Feldman deceased.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Feldman has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
