The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died following a logging accident near Sechelt on July 13, 2014.

She is Sherry Belle Bennett, aged 45, of Victoria.

On the morning of July 13, 2014, Ms. Bennett attended at a private site on Storm Bay near Sechelt where land-clearing operations were underway. At about 9:30 a.m. she was struck by a tree which had just been felled. She was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafe BC and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

Ms. Bennett’s family has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
