The BC Coroners Service, assisted by the Coquitlam RCMP, is seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual, very likely male, whose partial skeletal remains were found in a forested area along a power line in Anmore, near Coquitlam.
This individual is of undetermined ancestry and is estimated to have been between 45 and 65 years of age when he died. He has likely been missing for several years.
At some point during his life, this man suffered a severe injury to his face and head resulting in many fractured facial bones which may have left his face with some degree of distortion or scarring. He underwent surgery to his skull, possibly during the 1980s or 1990s.
This cranium was found by a hiker in December 2013, and efforts to use DNA for identification have not been successful. The BC Coroners Service and Coquitlam RCMP hope that the additional information here may sound familiar to someone who may have known this man.
Anyone with information which may help identify this man is asked to call Coroner Lisa Graham at 604 660-2556.
