The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after being struck by a vehicle in Saanich on July 20, 2014.
She is Betty Gum Ying Chan, aged 88, from Saanich.
Ms. Chan was walking northbound on Tyndall Avenue about 2:45 p.m. on July 20, 2014, when, near the intersection of Ash Avenue, she was struck by a vehicle that was also proceeding northbound. She was transported by ambulance to Victoria General Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards.
The BC Coroners Service and Saanich Police continue to investigate this incident.
The family of Ms. Chan has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
