The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identities of three persons who died following a motor vehicle incident near Kelowna on July 15, 2014.
They were Harold Reinhardt Miller, aged 82, from Vernon; his wife Violet Juline Miller, aged 79; and their great-grandson, Thomas Rhys Edward Davies, aged 14, from Victoria.
Mr. Miller was the driver of a car heading northbound on Highway 97 about 4:40 p.m. on July 15 near the intersection of Parkinson Drive opposite Duck Lake, where it was involved in a three-vehicle collision. Thomas was the front-seat passenger in the car, and Ms. Miller a passenger in the rear seat. All three were deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate these deaths.
The families of all three have been notified of the deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
