The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died after an accident on a farm near Cherryville on July 1, 2014.
He was Allen Donald Powder, aged 49, whose hometown was Yellowknife, NWT, but who was working on the farm when the incident occurred.
On the morning of July 1, Mr. Powder and another man were working, transferring some cows from one corral to another. One of the cows became agitated and aggressive. The cow turned on Mr. Powder and butted him with its head. He ran a short distance and climbed over a fence, but then collapsed and could not be resuscitated.
The BC Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Powder has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
