The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident in Lumby in the North Okanagan on June 14, 2014.
He was Kenneth Gregg Fisher, aged 69, of Lumby.
Mr. Fisher was the driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck, which was driving northbound downhill on Shuswap River Drive, a gravel road, about 8 p.m. on June 14 when the vehicle left the road and rolled down an embankment into the Shuswap River.
At the time, the river was running very high and was very turbulent, so recovery could not be completed immediately. As the river level declined, recovery became possible and was completed on July 31.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Fisher’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
