The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle incident near Radium Hot Springs on Aug. 3, 2014.

He is David Mackenzie Van Millingen, aged 56, of Calgary, Alberta.

Mr. Van Millinger was the operator of a westbound motorcycle which left the highway and struck a tree on Highway 93 about 12 km northeast of Radium Hot Springs at about 1 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2014. Mr. Van Millingen was deceased at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

Mr. Van Millingen’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
