The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who was found deceased in Kelowna on Sept. 3, 2014.

He is Melvin Davis Maygard, aged 56, of West Kelowna.

On Sept. 3, 2014, a passersby found Mr. Maygard on the ground on the banks of Mill Creek near the intersection of Enterprise Way and Commerce Avenue in Kelowna. He was deceased at the scene, and is believed to have died in the early morning hours of the same day.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death. Foul play has now been ruled out.

The family of Mr. Maygard has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
