The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after suffering an accidental fall in Victoria on Sept. 5, 2014.

The man is Yoan Plourde, aged 25, from Lévis, Que.

Mr. Plourde suffered an accidental fall from the balcony of his Victoria hotel room in the early hours of Sept. 5, 2014.

Emergency personnel attended the scene and confirmed Mr. Plourde deceased.

The BC Coroners Service and Victoria Police Department continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Plourde has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.

The BC Coroners Service expresses its condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Plourde.
