The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after being struck by a motor vehicle near Squamish on Sept. 4, 2014.
The woman was Neita Merlyn Nelson, aged 60, from Squamish.
Ms. Nelson was observed crossing Highway 99 at Mamquam Rd. at approximately 9:15 p.m. when she was struck by a northbound motor vehicle. Emergency personnel attended the scene and transported Ms. Nelson to Squamish General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.
The family of Ms. Nelson has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
