Today marks the 30th anniversary of the annual Bordeaux wine release in BC Liquor Stores.

Each year, this event attracts crowds of wine aficionados and collectors interested in purchasing the latest vintage.

This year, 3,500 cases of the 2011 vintage, described by experts as “classic Bordeaux”, are for sale in Signature locations throughout the province, as well as at select stores in Richmond, Vancouver, White Rock and West Vancouver.

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch has developed strong relationships with suppliers in Bordeaux, France, providing BC Liquor Store customers with access to a vast selection of Bordeaux wines ranging from $25 to $2,800 per bottle.

Product selection and quantity varies by store, with the complete range of 2011 Bordeaux available at Vancouver’s 39th and Cambie location. Bottle limits apply to some wines and buyers are advised to shop early to avoid disappointment.

Quick Facts:

  • The LDB held its first Bordeaux release in fall 1985.
  • In 2013, the LDB sold $6.7 million in Bordeaux wine.
