The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died at the protest camp at Oppenheimer Park in Vancouver on Oct. 14, 2014.
He was Joerg Brylla, aged 69, of no fixed address. He was known to friends in his community as Bunny George.
Mr. Brylla was found deceased in his tent at the Oppenheimer Park protest camp during wellness checks conducted on the morning of Oct. 15, 2014. He is believed to have died the previous day.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death. Foul play has now been ruled out.
Despite the best efforts of the BC Coroners Service, Vancouver City Police, and Mr. Brylla’s friends, no family members have been traced for Mr. Brylla. If anyone is aware of family members of Mr. Brylla, they are asked to contact the Vancouver-Metro Region of the BC Coroners Service at 604 660-7708.
