The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a fall on a mountain near Kemano on Nov. 10, 2014.
He was Jeffery Allan Wayne Ripley, aged 26, of Lethbridge, Alberta.
On Nov. 10, Mr. Ripley was guiding a party of hunters on a hunting trip on a remote mountain about one hour from Kemano. About 4 pm, Mr. Ripley lost his footing and fell over a cliff estimated to be 100 metres high. He was deceased at the scene. Recovery was accomplished the next day by the crew of a Royal Canadian Air Force search-and-rescue helicopter.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Mr. Ripley’s family has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
