The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a hunting accident near Nakusp on Nov. 12, 2014.
He is Juergen Thomas Burkhardt, aged 52, of North Vancouver.
On the afternoon of Nov. 12, 2014, Mr. Burkhardt was hunting with a companion on a steep section of mountain about 30 km from Nakusp when he fell a distance of more than 100 meters. He was deceased at the scene. Recovery was made successfully by Search and Rescue personnel the next day.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Burkhardt has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
