The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a police shooting in Vancouver on Nov. 22, 2014.
The man was Phuong Na (Tony) Du, aged 51, a Vancouver resident.
Mr. Du was shot during an encounter with Vancouver Police which occurred shortly before 5 p.m. on Nov. 22, near the intersection of Knight Street and E. 41st Avenue.
Mr. Du was transported from the scene to Vancouver General Hospital but died soon after arrival at hospital.
The BC Coroners Service and the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) continue to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Du has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
