The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a male who died in Bamfield on Dec. 9, 2014.

He was River Timothy Sidley, aged 22, of Rossland.

Mr. Sidley was storm-watching with friends in the early morning hours of Dec. 9 when he was witnessed to collapse. He was taken to the Bamfield health centre, but could not be resuscitated.

The Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

The family of Mr. Sidley has been notified of his death. On behalf of the family, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
