The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died as the result of a motor vehicle incident in Trail on Dec. 9, 2014.

She was Carla Vivian Evans, aged 68, of Trail.  

Ms. Evans and another person were pedestrians crossing Second Avenue in a marked crosswalk at Robertson Street at about 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 9 when both were struck by a vehicle. Ms. Evans was taken immediately to Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and from there was transferred to Kelowna General Hospital for further medical treatment. However, she died there of her injuries on Dec. 15.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate this death.

The family of Ms. Evans has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
