B.C.’s two tourism ministers have offered their congratulations to Air Canada for its new direct route from Vancouver to Osaka, Japan:
“This new Air Canada rouge service adds one more direct flight between B.C. and the world,” said Shirley Bond, Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training. “That’s a key goal of the BC Jobs Plan because each flight creates jobs and increases our competitive edge in attracting tourists and trade.”
“Our province is eager to welcome visitors to the hub of Vancouver and also to our spectacular landscapes and attractions throughout B.C.,” said Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism Naomi Yamamoto. “I have high hopes tourism operators will create tours and packages that will attract Japanese visitors. This new route will also deepen our long-standing business relationship with Japan.”
Tourism is a vital part of B.C.’s economy - generating $13.5 billion annually and employing more than 127,000 people. It is one of the key sectors in the BC Jobs Plan. To learn more, visit: www.bcjobsplan.ca
